“Normal“ portraits are boring.
I’m Celso de Sanders, a photographer based in the Netherlands with a background in graphic design. That design influence still plays a big role in how I approach photography. I’m drawn to strong visuals, contrast, and a clear sense of mood.
My interest in image-making started with comic books, graphic novels, and film. I was fascinated by how stories could be told through a single frame — that’s something I still carry with me in my work.
I focus on portraiture, press kits, music photography, movement, and studio work. I also direct videos when the project calls for motion over stillness.
I’m especially drawn to photographing people with distinctive features. Not just conventionally attractive faces, but those that are striking in a way that stays with you. For me, the goal is always to capture something honest and memorable.
